Consultant Biography
Dr Laura Cullen graduated from Imperial College Medical School, London with a First Class Honours BSc in Endocrinology. She undertook training in a number of medical rotations within London, both at St Mary’s Hospital and The Hammersmith, where she undertook training in Cardiology, Renal Medicine, Acute Medicine, and Diabetology. During her training, she also took a keen interest in Medical Education, and published 4 textbook publications for medical students. She currently enjoys writing for the British Medical Journal in her spare time.
Dr Cullen later joined the Barnet GP training scheme, gaining further experience in the care of Children, and Women’s health. She went on to complete the nMRCGP and became a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners. She was subsequently awarded the Diploma of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare, after taking a keen interest in women’s health.
As a result Dr Cullen’s special areas of interest include the management and care of patients with Diabetes, Chronic Kidney disease, high blood pressure and Cardiovascular Disease. She also enjoys undertaking Well Women and Well Man checks, and is fully proficient in providing gynaecological advise. Dr Cullen also has a wealth of expertise in caring for children.
Dr Cullen currently splits her time between working as a Partner at a busy NHS practice in Hampstead Garden Suburb, North London as well as committing herself to seeing private patients at St John and St Elizabeth. Dr Cullen has been described by her patients as a very warm, caring, approachable, holistic and thorough Doctor. In her spare time, Dr Cullen enjoys spending time with her 3 children.
